The short version
If we return no history on the VIN you paid for, you aren’t charged, automatically. If a report is materially wrong, broken or about the wrong vehicle, email us within 30 days and we refund it. Beyond that, a delivered report is final, because you already have the data. Ask us, never Whop: we approve it, they send it.
1. No hit, no charge
A Full Report is worth what it finds. If our sources return no listing, price, odometer or auction history for the VIN you paid for, we release the payment authorisation, or refund the charge if it settled, normally the same business day.
You don’t need to ask, and you don’t need to notice. We email you what we did and didn’t find either way.
2. When the records are old
Some vehicles were last advertised years ago. The records are real, and a report on one is often exactly what somebody wants: it is the only account of what the car has been listed for and what its odometer read at the time. But it cannot tell you what the vehicle is worth today.
So we do not sell one of those quietly. If the most recent record we hold is more than a year old, the checkout stops and shows you the date before it takes any money. Buying after that is your decision, and it is a normal sale.
3. Something wrong with the report
Email support@vinrack.io within 30 days of purchase and we refund in full if:
- the report is for a different vehicle than the VIN you entered;
- a material section is wrong and you can point to what it should say;
- the report failed to generate, wouldn’t open, or the PDF was corrupt;
- you were charged twice for the same VIN.
Refunds go back to the original payment method and take 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
4. Who actually sends the money back
Reports bought on vinrack.io are sold by Whop, Inc., our merchant of record, so it is Whop that returns the money once we approve the refund. You do not need an account with them and you do not contact them yourself: ask us, and we do it. The credit is returned to the card or wallet you paid with, and any sales tax or VAT collected at checkout comes back with it.
Bought inside the iOS app instead? Then Apple took the money, not us, and only Apple can return it. Write to us anyway with the VIN and we will tell you exactly which Apple form to use and what to put on it, because we would rather do that than leave you to find it.
5. What isn’t refundable
A delivered report that found records is final. Specifically, we don’t refund because the history was shorter than you hoped, because the pricing verdict disagreed with the seller, or because you decided not to buy the car. The report did its job in each of those cases.
Nor do we refund because the records were old, when the checkout told you the date and you bought it anyway. That warning exists so the decision is yours before the money moves rather than a complaint afterwards. If it never appeared and it should have, that is the case above and we refund it.
We also don’t refund a report you’ve already used to negotiate, then disputed with your bank. Chargebacks filed without contacting us first suspend the account while we respond.
6. Dealer plans
Annual dealer plans carry a 30-day trial from the day your first inventory feed goes live. Cancel inside those 30 days and we refund the year in full, no questions and no exit call.
After 30 days an annual plan runs to the end of its term. We don’t pro-rate a partial year, but we also don’t auto-renew without telling you 30 days out.
