A person, not a ticket queue

One report, one charge, and one place to reach a person about either. Write below and it lands in front of us with everything we need to answer it.

Send a message

Tell us what happened. Plain text is fine, and there is no ticket number to quote.

We only use this to answer you. Nothing here is added to a mailing list.

Billing

What the charge is, and who makes it

A Full Report is a one-off purchase covering one vehicle. There is no subscription, no trial that converts into one, and nothing renews.

Where your receipt comes from

Whop is our merchant of record, so it takes the payment, collects any tax and issues the receipt. The receipt is emailed the moment the payment clears, and every order you have placed is listed in their buyer portal.

A charge you do not recognise

A WHOP.COM/PAY line on a card statement is a Vinrack report bought through Whop. If nobody you know bought one, send us the date and the last four digits of the card and we will trace it and refund it: support@vinrack.io

Refunds

When money comes back

Three cases, and only one of them needs you to ask.

No hit, no charge

If our sources return no history on the VIN you paid for, the authorisation is released, or the charge refunded, the same business day. You do not have to ask or even notice.

Something wrong with the report

The wrong vehicle, a material section that is wrong, a report that would not generate, or a double charge. Email us within 30 days and it is refunded in full.

Bought inside the iOS app

App Store purchases are refunded by Apple rather than by us. Write to us anyway and we will tell you exactly which form to use and what to put on it.

The full text, including what is not refundable, is in the Refund policy.

Questions

Before you write

Do I need an account to check a VIN?

Yes, and it is free. The account is what a report attaches to, so a report you bought on a laptop opens on your phone, and is still there next year.

Does a report expire?

No. A Full Report stays in your account permanently and can be reopened or saved as a PDF whenever you want. Carfax expires after 30 days and AutoCheck after 90.

Is this a subscription?

No. You buy one report for one vehicle at a time. Nothing renews, and we never keep your card, because we never see it.

What currency am I charged in?

US dollars. If your card is in another currency your bank converts at its own rate, and any sales tax or VAT is added at checkout based on where you are.

Can I use a report to screen a tenant or an employee?

No. Vinrack is not a consumer reporting agency and a report may not be used for any decision the Fair Credit Reporting Act covers. Reports are for buying, selling and valuing vehicles.

How do I delete my account?

Write to the privacy address and it is done within 30 days, along with everything attached to it. Only the transaction record is kept longer, and only where tax law requires it.
